PAYING YOUR COURSE FEES<br />

Please note that all fees must generally be paid at the point of enrolment before attendance<br />

at the first class, unless otherwise stated in course details. The fee indicated includes the<br />

course fee and, where relevant, a registration fee, exam and/ or certification fee unless<br />

otherwise stated. Courses are marked where you may be eligible for a fee reduction,<br />

further information is available below and on page 52.<br />

Course fees over £150 can be paid in instalments. If you would like more information please<br />

enquire during enrolment. Usually course fees will be divided in to three payments. The first<br />

instalment must be paid when enrolling, and the two subsequent payments will be taken by<br />

standing order in accordance with your signed instalment form.<br />

There may be additional examination, registration or certification fees as indicated in course<br />

details. In such cases, students are responsible for making their own exam entries through<br />

the <strong>College</strong>’s Examination Office and payment of fees. Please note that the <strong>College</strong> may<br />

withhold certificates where course fees have not been paid.<br />

that they will pay your fees in full, if this applies to you.<br />

• Confirmation letter for 19+ Advanced Learner Loan<br />

for Level 3 or Level 4 courses.<br />

<strong>Shipley</strong> <strong>College</strong> will offer FREE courses for students who<br />

qualify under any of the categories listed in the Fee<br />

Reduction Eligibility table on the next page. If you want<br />

<strong>Shipley</strong> <strong>College</strong> to support you with course fees, you are<br />

required to enrol in person and provide recent (original)<br />

documentation to prove that you qualify.<br />

HOW DO I APPLY FOR THE 19+ ADVANCED LEARNER LOAN?<br />

If you are aged 19 or above at the start of your course and studying on a Level 3 or Level 4 programme, the <strong>College</strong> will<br />

provide you with a Learning and Funding Information letter. You will need this letter to make a loan application by visiting<br />

the website www.gov.uk/advanced-learner-loan to either apply online or download and post an application form. If you<br />

are 19-23 and studying your first Level 3 course you may still be eligible for full funding on this course.<br />

If you’re unsure about taking out a loan and want to seek advice then you should contact the Money Advice<br />

Service, established by the UK government, who can offer free, impartial advice by visiting their website at<br />

www.moneyadviceservice.org.uk If you’re unsure whether the course you’d like to study is right for you, then you can<br />

find support and advice on the National Careers Service website at www.nationalcareersservice.direct.gov.uk or call<br />

their helpline on 0800 100 900. Student Services staff are also available to help with any queries on 01274 327281.<br />

If you have been granted a full or partial 19+ Advanced Learner Loan for a Level 3 or Level 4 course and you leave<br />

before the end date of the course you will be liable for the balance of course fees not covered by your loan.<br />

The <strong>College</strong>’s policy is not to waive course fees, except in exceptional circumstances, when a student withdraws<br />

after the start of their course.<br />
