Adams Rite<br />

On 24 March 2006 the Group acquired 100 percent of the<br />

share capital of Adams Rite, a leading American manufacturer<br />

of locks and fittings for aluminum doors. The acquisition<br />

brings ASSA ABLOY complementary products and new<br />

distribution channels. Adams Rite designs and manufactures<br />

mechanical and electromechanical security products.<br />

The company has a strong brand and product range in aluminum<br />

doors, which are sold through distribution channels<br />

that complement ASSA ABLOY’s existing channels. The<br />

company’s head office is in Pomona, California, where most<br />

of its operations also take place, with a focus on assembly.<br />

In the UK the company is the leading distributor of<br />

mechanical and electromechanical security products for<br />

commercial aluminum doors. The brand has been reported<br />

On 31 March 2006 the Group acquired 100 percent of the<br />

share capital of Baron Metal Industries Inc, Canada’s leading<br />

manufacturer of steel doors and door frames. The<br />

acquisition gives ASSA ABLOY a broader range of steel<br />

doors and frames. The company has its head office and factory<br />

in Woodbridge, Toronto. The brand has been reported<br />

separately, while remaining goodwill lies mainly in synergies<br />

and intangible assets that do not meet the criteria for<br />

separate reporting.
