I don’t have a problem with
most of the strategies except
the intention to develop the
Shoalhaven River and
surrounds. How can this be
ecologically sustainable or a
safe strategy for businesses
and the community when the
River and its surrounds are an
identified flood zone
I recommend inclusion of a
further strategy, “enhance the
capacity of council’s
community consultative bodies
and community engagement
processes to ensure that
expression of the diversity of
community opinion is
encouraged, represented and
respected.”
Many retired members of the
community have a wide range
of skills to offer, yet this rich
source of expertise and
experience is not respected or
sought
