Besides its role as a public relations
tool for our corporation and its subsidiary
companies, Makivik Magazine is also
a way to showcase the Inuit of Nunavik,
who are truly the owners of this corporation.
If you have a story idea or an event
that you would like all of Nunavik to enjoy,
please email us at magazine@makivik.org.
This is just one way that Makivik works “to
promote the welfare, advancement, and
education of the Inuit” as stated in the
corporate mandate.
Beyond the updates provided in each
Makivik Annual Report, the Makivik staff
and Makivik’s subsidiary companies utilize
this magazine to interpret to you, our readers, their challenges, efforts and
achievements. For instance we have regular contributions from Air Inuit, First Air,
our Legal Department, Research Department, Ottawa office and Nunavik
Creations. Makivik staff and subsidiary employees are keenly aware of this
opportunity to promote their good work and are eager to inform us about
it as soon as they have interesting stories to be told so we may share them
with you. Other Nunavik and Inuit organization such as Avataq, the Health
Board, the School Board, KRG, ITK, FCNQ and ICC also collaborate on interesting
activities that involve Nunavimmiut.
If you happen to enjoy drawing, we invite you to send in your pictures.
These days with the convenience of digital cameras and email, we continue
to receive photos and appreciate it very much. Just be sure these photos
are of the highest resolution that you can set your camera to.
