KRG Airfare Reduction Program<br />
Anyone who has been a resident of Nunavik for at least 12 consecutive<br />
months and JBNQA beneficiaries who reside in Quebec are eligible<br />
under the Airfare Reduction Program for personal and compassionate<br />
travel between Nunavik communities and between Nunavik and any<br />
other destination in Quebec. Any airline ticket claimed<br />
under the program must have been issued in the name<br />
of an eligible Nunavik resident or JBNQA beneficiary.<br />
This form must be submitted to the KRG Finance<br />
Department no later than 90 days following the completion<br />
of the trip.<br />
Only personal travel and compassionate travel are<br />
eligible under this program. Personal travel is means<br />
travel for Nunavik residents, by air from their home community<br />
to a destination elsewhere in Québec and for<br />
JBNQA beneficiaries, by air to any Nunavik community.<br />
Compassionate Travel means travel by air to accompany a<br />
patient to a place of treatment and by air due to a death<br />
in the ticket holder's immediate family.<br />
Travel undertaken on behalf of an employer or as<br />
a benefit of employment is not eligible for this subsidy. The price of airfare<br />
is subsidized at 50% of the ticket cost, up to a maximum of $1500<br />
for each of the two travel categories (personal and compassionate) in<br />
any given year. Complete the form available at your local Air Inuit station<br />
or online at krg.ca in order to apply.<br />
