What You Will Learn
In this course, you will learn the many ways in which our human brains deceive us and lead us
to conclusions that have little to do with reality. That’s a very big problem when making crucial
business decisions. You will learn strategies that can be used to combat the mind's many
deceptions and have you making better, smarter, and more appropriate business decisions. We
rely on our memories as if they were accurate recordings of the past, but the evidence shows that
we should be highly suspicious of even the most vivid and confident memories. Additionally, a
host of logical flaws and cognitive biases plague our thinking. In this course, you will explore
logical errors and cognitive biases in detail, learning how they affect business thinking in often
subtle ways.
We discuss how you can accurately use critical thinking skills and tools to combat the deceptions
of your mind. You will learn how to apply critical thinking, knowledge of science, and knowledge
of the mechanisms of self-deception to everyday practice. By the end of the course, you will have
a thorough understanding of what constitutes critical thinking and why we all so desperately
