MANAGEMENT RESOURCES GUIDE
Strategic due diligence: Ask and answer the big questions. The best acquirers investigate
targets for what's important, identifying the critical sources of ongoing value. A frequent
acquirer knows precisely where it can add value and is, therefore, able to set its price—and to
walk away if the price isn't right.
Merger integration planning: Integrate where it matters. No two integrations are the
same, and companies must carefully consider aspects of culture to IT to realise the full value of
the deal.
Merger integration execution: Nail the short list of critical actions. Merging two companies
requires rigorous follow-through on a long list of integration tasks, large and small. Doing both
is hard. Part of the answer lies in a few, powerful guiding principles: tailor the integration thesis
to the deal thesis; integrate where it matters, and act with deliberate speed.
Executive Wisdom's mergers and acquisitions consultants help companies build and execute on
their repeatable models for M&A. We also apply our expertise to guide companies and
management teams that are deciding where to grow and shed through joint ventures and
alliances or divestitures and separations.
Our work is continually informed by the latest M&A analyses and insights which ensure that our
clients have access to information and conclusions about how the best acquirers succeed.
Organisational Development
Some organisations work. They accomplish what they set out to do, and their employees are
engaged and happy with their jobs. However, Executive Wisdom research indicates that less
than 20 percent of companies achieve that. Executive Wisdom helps clients improve financial
performance and make their organisations better places to work by ensuring the entire
organisation system is aligned and set up to deliver on the company's objectives.
Executive Wisdom has completed more than 100 organisational assignments in the last ten
years. Our areas of expertise include:
Organisation Diagnostics: Executive Wisdom's diagnostic tools help clients assess and
identify how to improve their organisational performance. We help companies determine where
their organisation is strong, where it is weak and, most critically, which outcomes matter most
for generating superior business performance.
Organisational design and operating model: A well-designed operating model provides
a clear and consistent blueprint for how resources are organised and operated to achieve a
company's strategic priorities. We partner with clients to help them design and implement
operating models that translate strategy into effective execution.
Organisation Simplification: Organisational complexity is the new normal, driven by
growth, globalisation and disruptive technologies; adequately addressing it requires time and
focus. Our holistic approach helps companies identify and simultaneously address the
fundamental drivers of complexity to ensure that its symptoms don't creep back.
Decision effectiveness: Executive Wisdom helps organisations determine problem. We help
businesses strengthen weak elements of their organisation and embed ethical and proper
decision making and execution into everyday operations.
