ARIZONA ICED TEA
This is a great example of a beverage
that’s loaded with more sugar than
you should take in a day. The beverage is
also masked with a healthy “iced tea” label.
And while still on it, substitute it with
foods that have a lot of fiber in them such
as veggies, fruits, whole grains, and beans.
NON-/LOW-FAT FRUITY
GREEK YOGURTS
Greek yogurt has seen quite a buzz, so
great for you. Yogurt is actually one of the
fastest growing categories under the dairy
aisle. However, it has now gone overboard
with the pre-blended granola, the sugar
content, dessert-like flavors, and other additives,
which have pushed all the goodness
away from the original Greek yogurt.
FLAVORED COFFEE CREAMERS
Since most coffee creamers are added
to coffee in small amounts, they tend
to seem so innocent. But what most people
don’t realize is that most coffee creamers
contain hydrogenated oils – forms of
trans fats that could potentially harm your
heart’s health by increasing the amount of
bad cholesterol and lowering your good
cholesterol levels. They also provide additional,
empty calories.
Considering that this might be a daily habit
for many people, who also take multiple
cups of coffee in a day, the small
amounts can easily add up to a large
health risk. So, skip the creamer and
just have your coffee black to make it a
bit healthier.
