3. Points <strong>of</strong> Emphasis – Rules Conditions<br />
Powerlifting<br />
� The International Canoe Federation (ICF) Flatwater Rules will be employed<br />
except when they are in conflict with <strong>of</strong>ficial <strong>Special</strong> <strong>Olympics</strong> rules.<br />
1. Events Offered<br />
Squat<br />
Bench Press<br />
Deadlift<br />
Combined Bench Press and Deadlift<br />
Combined Squat, Bench Press and Deadlift<br />
2. Sport Uniform/Equipment<br />
� Supportive bench press shirts will not be allowed for competition.<br />
� Long pants should not be worn.<br />
� A one-piece lifting suit must be worn by the athlete while competing.<br />
A T-shirt must be worn under the one piece lifting suit.<br />
� Footgear<br />
� Long socks (up to the knee) must be worn for the Deadlift.<br />
� Sports type shoes e.g. trainers, powerlifting or weightlifting boots<br />
ONLY must be worn. No hiking or work boots allowed.<br />
� All uniform items will be checked at weigh-in and must conform to<br />
International Powerlifting Federation standards.<br />
Roller Skating<br />
1. Events Offered<br />
Only speed events will be <strong>of</strong>fered at the 2011 <strong>Special</strong> <strong>Olympics</strong> World Summer<br />
Games.<br />
