Physiotherapy (FUN Fitness)<br />
During a FUNfitness screening, volunteer physical<br />
therapists, assistants, and students assess the flexibility and<br />
functional strength <strong>of</strong> <strong>Special</strong> <strong>Olympics</strong> athletes' muscles<br />
as well as overall balance. The program also provides<br />
"take-away" educational materials for <strong>Special</strong> <strong>Olympics</strong> athletes<br />
and information for families and coaches about the importance<br />
<strong>of</strong> and methods to improve flexibility, functional strength<br />
and balance in sports performance and activities <strong>of</strong> daily living.<br />
Health Promotion<br />
Health Promotion focuses on educating athletes about<br />
healthy lifestyles and the facilitation <strong>of</strong> healthy choices.<br />
It <strong>of</strong>fers guidelines on nutrition and exercise, as well as<br />
bone health, stopping smoking and sun safety, using<br />
interactive educational activities and motivational information<br />
to encourage behavior change.<br />
Podiatry (Fit Feet)<br />
Many <strong>Special</strong> <strong>Olympics</strong> athletes suffer from foot and ankle<br />
pain or deformities that impair their performance.<br />
Fit Feet will evaluate and screen foot and ankle deformities <strong>of</strong><br />
athletes and provide education in proper footwear and care <strong>of</strong><br />
the feet and toes.<br />
11.3 Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) Final Leg<br />
Aim:<br />
The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) Final Leg is one <strong>of</strong> the most important events<br />
<strong>of</strong> the <strong>Special</strong> <strong>Olympics</strong> World Games, which is supported by a large audience. The<br />
Law Enforcement Torch Run, led by the 10 <strong>Special</strong> <strong>Olympics</strong> athletes selected to<br />
participate, will spread the message <strong>of</strong> acceptance, ability, and inclusion that<br />
embodies the <strong>Special</strong> <strong>Olympics</strong> movement as well as promoting the World Games in<br />
Athens.<br />
The Torch Run is undertaken by the Law Enforcement <strong>of</strong>ficers who carry the Flame <strong>of</strong><br />
Hope across the country with the aim <strong>of</strong> informing and raising awareness. In Greece,<br />
