Achieving Personal Best (APB)<br />
Achieving Personal Best (APB) activities have been added to the daily schedule <strong>of</strong><br />
activities as a way to provide <strong>Special</strong> <strong>Olympics</strong> athletes and coaches with new<br />
opportunities to develop their athletic abilities and acquire new skills. APB will also<br />
initiate coach-ins conducted by renowned coaches for <strong>Special</strong> <strong>Olympics</strong> coaches and<br />
introduce newly designed recognition programs for athletes and coaches. Achieving<br />
Personal Best activities are not open to the public.<br />
As it can be seen in the competition schedule, most <strong>of</strong> the sports have added USE &<br />
APB activities in order to fulfill the aims <strong>of</strong> the program (USE/APB). The detailed<br />
program will be announced on the <strong>of</strong>ficial website <strong>of</strong> ATHENS 2011 under the sports<br />
section. (The program is subject to change).<br />
10.11 Football Fun Park<br />
A special Unity Sport Event (USE) activity, sponsored by the ‘UEFA we care’ program,<br />
will operate at Hellinikon Olympic Complex adjacent to the Olympic Hockey Venue<br />
(Football 5-aside). The Football Fun Park will be open daily from June 28 th to July 2 nd<br />
from 10:00 to 14:00 and teams, fans and celebrities can meet qualified football<br />
coaches and take part in football fun & learn activities.<br />
10.12 Meteorology Services during the Games<br />
During the period <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Special</strong> <strong>Olympics</strong> World Summer Games ATHENS 2011 the<br />
Hellenic Meteorology Service (HNMS) will monitor weather forecasts for all<br />
competition venue areas and provide delegations with current and future<br />
information. This data will be communicated electronically, via emails and /or<br />
uploads on the <strong>of</strong>ficial HNMS website (www.hnms.gr). Analytically, HNMS will<br />
provide:<br />
1. General Meteorological Information for the <strong>Special</strong> <strong>Olympics</strong> Competition<br />
Venues (three times a day), will include data on current weather conditions<br />
(observations published by Automatic Meteorological Stations), astronomic<br />
information, general weather forecasts for the Greater Athens Area, <strong>Special</strong><br />
<strong>Olympics</strong> weather, temperature and wind forecasts, UV index and an outlook<br />
for the Greater Athens Area for the next five days.<br />
