� To familiarize the athletes with the new environment.<br />
� To get practice and training prior to the Games.<br />
4.2 Arriving directly in the Host Town<br />
� It is advisable that the <strong>Delegation</strong>s travel directly (by road or air) to the Host<br />
Town in order to avoid additional travelling time.<br />
� The <strong>Delegation</strong> Registration Confirmation Formalities for the <strong>Delegation</strong>s<br />
travelling directly to the Host Town will be completed upon arrival in the Host<br />
Town by the HODs and the DALs in cooperation with the <strong>Delegation</strong>s Services<br />
Department <strong>of</strong> the SOWSG ATHENS 2011 GOC.<br />
4.3 Transportation to the Host Town from Athens<br />
� The <strong>Delegation</strong>s will be transferred to the Host Towns after the completion <strong>of</strong><br />
the registration formalities at the <strong>Delegation</strong>s Welcome Center (DWC),<br />
accompanied by the <strong>Delegation</strong>s Assistant Liaisons (DALs).<br />
� The <strong>Delegation</strong>s will be transferred to the Host Towns by coaches, by ship, or<br />
a combination <strong>of</strong> both.<br />
� Lunch boxes will be provided to delegations for their journey to their Host<br />
Town (ref: chapter 5.3).<br />
4.4 <strong>Delegation</strong>s’ welcome in the Host Town<br />
Upon arrival at their Host Town, the <strong>Delegation</strong>s will be welcomed by the Local<br />
Organizing Committee (LOC) and the Local Authorities.<br />
4.5 Services provided at the Host Town<br />
The following services will be provided to the <strong>Delegation</strong>s through the operation <strong>of</strong><br />
the Local Organizing Committees:<br />
� Welcome upon arrival.<br />
� Accommodation in 1 st class hotels, in two, three or four-bed rooms. Most <strong>of</strong><br />
the hotels are located by the sea.<br />
� Three meals a day i.e. breakfast, lunch and dinner, with menus <strong>of</strong> Greek<br />
cuisine respecting cultural restrictions.<br />
