intensely. Confined, with his angels, to a desolate
earth, he cannot carry on the deceptions that had
constantly occupied his time. He is forced to view
the results of his rebellion against God and His
law; he must contemplate the part he has played in
the controversy between good and evil. He can
only look to the future with fear for the dreadful
penalty he must suffer because of all the evil for
which he is responsible.
Events at the End of the Millennium
At the end of the thousand years "the rest of the
dead"--the wicked--will be resurrected, thus
releasing Satan from the inactivity that has
imprisoned him (Rev. 20:5, 7). Deceiving the
wicked once again, he leads them against "the
camp of the saints and the beloved city [the New
Jerusalem]" (Rev. 20:9), which, with Christ, have
descended from heaven by this time.[9]
