intensely. Confined, with his angels, to a desolate<br />

earth, he cannot carry on the deceptions that had<br />

constantly occupied his time. He is forced to view<br />

the results <strong>of</strong> his rebellion against God and His<br />

law; he must contemplate the part he has played in<br />

the controversy between good and evil. He can<br />

only look to the future with fear for the dreadful<br />

penalty he must suffer because <strong>of</strong> all the evil for<br />

which he is responsible.<br />

Events at the End <strong>of</strong> the Millennium<br />

At the end <strong>of</strong> the thousand years "the rest <strong>of</strong> the<br />

dead"--the wicked--will be resurrected, thus<br />

releasing Satan from the inactivity that has<br />

imprisoned him (Rev. 20:5, 7). Deceiving the<br />

wicked once again, he leads them against "the<br />

camp <strong>of</strong> the saints and the beloved city [the New<br />

Jerusalem]" (Rev. 20:9), which, with Christ, have<br />

descended from heaven by this time.[9]<br />
