John 2:1; cf. Zech. 3:1). Paul asked rhetorically,<br />

"Who is he who condemns?" Then he <strong>of</strong>fered the<br />

assurance that Christ Himself is at God's right<br />

hand, interceding for us (Rom. 8:34). Affirming<br />

His role as Mediator, Christ said, "Most assuredly,<br />

I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My<br />

name He will give you" (John 16:23).<br />

Christ the King<br />

God "has established His throne in heaven, and<br />

His kingdom rules over all" (Ps. 103:19). It is selfevident<br />

that the Son <strong>of</strong> God, as one <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Godhead, shares in this divine government over the<br />

whole universe.<br />

Christ, as the God-man, will exercise His<br />

kingship over those who have accepted Him as<br />

Lord and Saviour. "Your throne, O God," it said,<br />

"is forever and ever; a scepter <strong>of</strong> righteousness is<br />

the scepter <strong>of</strong> your kingdom" (Ps. 45:6; Heb. 1:8,<br />

9).<br />
