It is only on the basis <strong>of</strong> God's special<br />

revelation that people understand the<br />

reasonableness <strong>of</strong> observing the seventh <strong>day</strong>. Those<br />

who keep the seventh <strong>day</strong>, then, do so out <strong>of</strong> faith<br />

and implicit trust in Christ, who has enjoined its<br />

observance. By observing the Sabbath, believers<br />

reveal a willingness to accept God's will for their<br />

lives instead <strong>of</strong> depending on their own judgment.<br />

In keeping the seventh <strong>day</strong>, believers are not<br />

trying to make themselves righteous. Rather, they<br />

observe the Sabbath as the result <strong>of</strong> their<br />

relationship with Christ the Creator and<br />

Redeemer.[22] Sabbathkeeping is the product <strong>of</strong><br />

His righteousness in justification and<br />

sanctification, signifying, that they have been<br />

delivered from the bondage <strong>of</strong> sin and have<br />

received His perfect righteousness.<br />
