It is only on the basis of God's special
revelation that people understand the
reasonableness of observing the seventh day. Those
who keep the seventh day, then, do so out of faith
and implicit trust in Christ, who has enjoined its
observance. By observing the Sabbath, believers
reveal a willingness to accept God's will for their
lives instead of depending on their own judgment.
In keeping the seventh day, believers are not
trying to make themselves righteous. Rather, they
observe the Sabbath as the result of their
relationship with Christ the Creator and
Redeemer.[22] Sabbathkeeping is the product of
His righteousness in justification and
sanctification, signifying, that they have been
delivered from the bondage of sin and have
received His perfect righteousness.
