oneness <strong>of</strong> the triune God. "There are diversities <strong>of</strong><br />

gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences <strong>of</strong><br />

ministries, but the same Lord. And there are<br />

diversities <strong>of</strong> activities, but it is the same God who<br />

works all in all" (1 Cor. 12:4-6).<br />

The Extent <strong>of</strong> Unity<br />

Believers experience a unity <strong>of</strong> mind and<br />

judgment. Notice the following exhortations: "Now<br />

may the God <strong>of</strong> patience and comfort grant you to<br />

be like-minded toward one another, according to<br />

Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one<br />

mouth glorify the God and Father <strong>of</strong> our Lord Jesus<br />

Christ" (Rom. 15:5, 6). "Now I plead with you,<br />

brethren, by the name <strong>of</strong> our Lord Jesus Christ, that<br />

you all speak the same thing, and that there be no<br />

divisions among you, but that you be perfectly<br />

joined together in the same mind and in the same<br />

judgment" (1 Cor. 1:10). "Be <strong>of</strong> good comfort, be<br />

<strong>of</strong> one mind, live in peace; and the God <strong>of</strong> love and<br />

peace will be with you" (2 Cor. 13:11).<br />

God's church, then, ought to reveal a unity <strong>of</strong><br />
