Jesus Reveals the Father
Jesus, God the Son, provided the most
profound view of God the Father when He, as
God's self-revelation, came inhuman flesh (John
1:1, 14). John states, "No one has seen God at any
time. The only begotten Son ... has declared Him"
(John 1:18). Jesus said, "'I have come down from
heaven'" (John 6:38); "'He who has seen Me has
seen the Father'" (John 14:9). To know Jesus is to
know the Father.
The Epistle to the Hebrews stresses the
importance of this personal revelation: "God, who
at various times and in different ways spoke in time
past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last
days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has
appointed heir of all things, through whom also He
made the worlds; ... being the brightness of His
glory and the express image of His person"
(Heb.1:1-3).
