7. MATERIALS
7.1 The following materials are required:
7.1.1 Clear silicone sealant (e.g., general household sealant, silicon rubber)
7.1.2 Compressed air
7.1.3 40 L of distilled water
8. SAMPLING
8.1 Asphalt binder shall be sampled in accordance with AASHTO T40.
8.2 Aggregate shall be sampled in accordance with AASHTO T2.
8.3 Asphalt concrete mixtures shall be sampled in accordance with AASHTO T168.
9. SPECIMEN PREPARATION
9.1 Prepare an asphalt concrete mixture sample in accordance with sections 9.1, 9.2,
and 9.3 of T247. Prepare a sufficient amount of material to ensure that the final compacted
test specimen is 102 + 4 mm in diameter by 102 + 4 mm in height.
9.2 Subject the asphalt concrete mixture prepared in section 9.1 to short-term aging
in accordance with sections 10.1, 10.2, and 10.3 of T247.
