Korea government has set <strong>the</strong> goal to reduce pesticide use by 50 percent during past two
decades. Even through many o<strong>the</strong>r intensives have been provided to achieve <strong>the</strong> goal including IPM,
government-driven introduction <strong>of</strong> biological based pesticides or natural enemies, most commonly
practiced crop protection is being done by chemical pesticides. Fur<strong>the</strong>rmore, top ten pesticides from
<strong>the</strong> total pesticide sales seizes upon about 50 percent. However, <strong>the</strong>y are still used all over <strong>the</strong> world.
Agicultural vetinary chemicals management is ano<strong>the</strong>r vacant area in <strong>the</strong> Republic since
RDA is responsible for pesticides used in agriculture only. The government had several meeting to
designate <strong>the</strong> responsible agency taking care <strong>of</strong> biocides or agvet chemicals. For <strong>the</strong> time being, each
chemical is being managed in relevant organization.
Crop streng<strong>the</strong>ners or environmentally friendly crop protection agents are illegally on Korean
market without registration, which resulted in crop damages for farmers including poor protection
activities and relatively high costs. Quality control and assurance methodologies have to be
established to reduce <strong>the</strong> damages as well as unpredictable risk to worker and environmental
compartments.
