The other shipyard in the group, Als<strong>to</strong>m Leroux Naval,<br />
distinguished itself by picking up <strong>orders</strong> for two additional<br />
high-speed ferries for the Greek owner NEL Lines,<br />
one capable of 40 knots with a carrying capacity of<br />
1,800 passengers and the other capable of 36 knots and<br />
capacity for 800 passengers.<br />
This shipyard also delivered the following vessels:<br />
• "Gotland", a 700-passenger/35-knot high-speed ferry<br />
for the Swedish shipowner Gotland.<br />
• Three 30-<strong>to</strong>nne bollard pull tugs for the Tunisian<br />
Merchant Marine and Ports Office.<br />
• Ten 40-<strong>to</strong>nne bollard pull tugs for the <strong>French</strong> shipowner<br />
Les Abeilles.<br />
The Constructions Mécaniques de Normandie shipyard<br />
delivered the following vessels:<br />
• "Kiesse", a 2,730 bhp multi-purpose supply vessel for<br />
the <strong>French</strong> company Surf.<br />
• Four naval patrol boats <strong>to</strong> Kuwait.<br />
Piriou <strong>to</strong>ok the following <strong>orders</strong>:<br />
• 2 tuna seiners and 7 trawlers for <strong>French</strong> and Irish owners.<br />
• A refrigerated shrimper for Madagascar.<br />
• A crew boat for Surf.<br />
This shipyard also delivered the following vessels:<br />
• "Weza" and "Malila", 2,730 bhp multi-purpose supply<br />
vessels for Surf.<br />
• "Salama Djema IV", a ro-pax ship <strong>to</strong> Mayotte.<br />
• 4 fishing vessels for New Caledonia and a trawler for<br />
the <strong>French</strong> owner Freullet.<br />
• "Surfer 197", a crew boat for Surf.<br />
Germany<br />
Germany maintains its leadership in Europe, just ahead<br />
of Italy with 1.98 million gt in its orderbook. The country<br />
also kept the fourth position worldwide behind<br />
China, but it is losing ground, as the rest of Europe.<br />
There are four dominant vessel types in the orderbook<br />
this year:<br />
• Containerships, still the largest part of the orderbook,<br />
but dropping from 44 <strong>to</strong> 37%.<br />
• Cruiseships, which went from 23 <strong>to</strong> 28% of <strong>to</strong>tal<br />
<strong>orders</strong>.<br />
• Ro-pax vessels, moving ahead of cargo ships and<br />
advancing from 5 <strong>to</strong> 13%.<br />
• Ro-ro vessels are stable at 9%.
