The Login Items tab (Figure 4-38) lets you manage applications, scripts, and other executable<br />

items that you want to start automatically when you log in to your computer. In general,<br />

what you will find listed here are background tasks that certain applications use to provide some<br />

sort of feature. You can, however, add your own items. For example, if you want the Mail application<br />

to start up immediately when you log in to your computer, you can add it to this list by<br />

clicking the + button and selecting Mail from the resulting dialog box.<br />
