The Login Items tab (Figure 4-38) lets you manage applications, scripts, and other executable
items that you want to start automatically when you log in to your computer. In general,
what you will find listed here are background tasks that certain applications use to provide some
sort of feature. You can, however, add your own items. For example, if you want the Mail application
to start up immediately when you log in to your computer, you can add it to this list by
clicking the + button and selecting Mail from the resulting dialog box.
