Street, Chicago. An illustrated Catalog, 36 pages with
cover, devoted to a complete treatise on the building
of monolithic furnace linings with "Philbrico" by the
use of which, it is claimed, furnace life is increased.
The booklet will be of interest to all users of industrial
furnaces of whatever type.

Pickellette Pickling — William W. Hearne, Inc.,
Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. Booklet of 20 pages
dealing with the use of a mixture to avoid the fumes
and odors incident to the usual pickling process, to
avoid large acid consumption, pitting and loss of
weight in the steel, etc. It is stated that many other
advantages accompany the use of this material when
the operation is carried on in accordance with definite
instructions.

Forged Steel Pipe Flanges—American Spiral Pipe
Works, Chicago. Catalog No. 24 of 88 pages describes
forged steel flanges, embodying the new American engineering
standards of 400, 600 and 900 lb. per sq. in.
^corking steam pressure. The work consists in the
main of drawings, with accompanying tables of dimensions
and price lists. The tabular matter is very
.complete, while a good many special fittings are shown.

Fans and Blowers — The American Blower Company,
Detroit, Mich. The fans and blowers made by
this company and trade named "Sirrocco" are shown
and described in Bulletin No. 1801 that has been mailed
out. Many tables of specifications and several sectional
drawings are contained in the bulletin.

Sand Blasting Machines. The United States Silica
Company, Chicago. The many uses of the "Flint Shot"
in a variety of factories and foundries are shown by
illustration and text in this booklet. Ease of operation
and low cost are stressed together with the greater
efficiency of the machine.

Merchandising Department, Bridgeport, Conn.
Arc stability, ease of manipulation, flexibility of operation,
rapid deposition and good penetration and maximum
economy, are some of the headings used in describing

Forges—The Buffalo Forge Company, Buffalo, N,
Y. A newly designed forge has been put on the market
by this company, and circulars describing it have been
prepared. Many features and improvements are noted
in the product and clear-cut illustrations are used to
emphasize them.

Screws—The Parker-Kalon Corporation, 353 West
13th Street, New York City. Assembly costs may be
cut from 50 to 75 per cent by the use of the self-tapping
screws made by this concern, according to a
broadside that it has recently mailed out. Wash drawings
illustrate the ease of operation and some of the
other advantages of their use. Another point stressed
is the many uses in the assembling of automobiles to
which these screws may be put.

Wickliffe, Ohio. The electric tramrail made by this
company is well shown in this booklet. That it will
effect a saving in handling costs is pointed out as well
as the safety and efficiency of using this form of overhead
factory transportation.

Pa. This bulletin gives general description,
oiling directions and a list of the parts of the motordriven
chain hoist made by the company.
