Ind., is said to be planning the construction of a onestory
foundry to cost $25,000. It is expected to begin
work next year.

North Hermitage Street. Chicago, has awarded a general
contract to the John Keefer Company, 6638
North Maplewood Avenue, for a one-story plant, 90 x
125 ft., to cost $37,000. E. C. Ecker and Associates,
110 S. Dearborn Street, are architects.

The Riverside Forge & Machine Companv, Jackson,
Mich., has awarded a general contract to the
Austin Companv, Chicago, for a one-story addition,
40 x 125 ft., to cost about $27,000.

The Heintz Manufacturing Company, Front Street
and Olney Avenue. Philadelphia, manufacturer of
steel automobile bodies, has awarded further contracts
for plant additions to the Robinson Iron cc Steel Company,
Manayunk, to be one-story and to cost $14,000.

Carbon Electrodes—A third edition of its book on
"The Carbon Electrode" has been issued by the National
Carbon Company, Inc.. New York. It has been
revised fully to keep abreast of developments in the
making of electrodes for furnace use and a number of
pages of engineering data are included.

Special Steel—In a current booklet the Haynes
Stellite Company, Xew York, gives information as to
its product, gained from investigations by the Union
Carbide and Carbon Research Laboratories, Inc. This
information lias not been presented previously in
printed form and is assembled in response to many
requests from engineers. It is of much value to the
metal working trades in which card cutting tools are
used.
Fire Brick Cement—A series of leaflets calling attention
to savings in the use of a cement adapted to
heat is being issued by the Botfield Refractories Company,
Philadelphia. Various uses are covered in individual
leaflets.
