I am very interested in how strategy changes at the
transition from one period in a company’s history to its next.
The details are a topic for Part Three of this book, but I am
calling attention to it here because this transition is so important
to NetApp’s maturation.
NetApp’s turbulent adolescence began with hypergrowth
and ended with the crash. The next chapter focuses on this
same period, but from the perspective of how values and culture
created a company resilient enough to survive.
