Progress to date
Both networks regularly organise seminars and
workshops, arrange visits to commercial plants
and research and development facilities,
commission special reports, publish biannual
newsletters and a website and actively promote
biomass conversion technologies and applications
for the resultant bio-fuels. Technical
advances in the topics are achieved through
specially focussed workshops and through
commissioned work from specialists in the area.
Both pyrolysis and gasification of biomass have
benefited considerably from the interactions
promoted in the networks and from the high
profile publicity resulting from the publications.
