Nursing Interventions – Common nursing interventions NAAOP – NAARF
NAAOP Alcohol withdrawal treatment initial 60 minutes
Providing a patient, in alcohol withdrawal, with treatment and supportive care. For additional time, use
NAAOQ. Service is billed in 60-minute increments.
NAAOQ Alcohol withdrawal treatment each additional 15 minutes
Providing a patient, in alcohol withdrawal, with treatment and supportive care. Use NAAOQ in conjunction
with NAAOP. Service is billed in 15-minute increments.
NAAOR Blood sugar management initial 60 minutes
Managing, preventing and/or treating a patient’s hyperglycemic or hypoglycemic condition. For additional
time, use NAAOS. Service is billed in 60-minute increments.
NAAOS Blood sugar management each additional 15 minutes
Managing, preventing and/or treating a patient’s hyperglycemic or hypoglycemic condition. Use NAAOS
in conjunction with NAAOR. Service is billed in 15-minute increments.
NAAPI Home preparation environmental management each 15 minutes
Managing and/or preparing a patient’s home environment to promote his or her optimal comfort. Service
is billed in 15-minute increments.
NAAPM Bereavement support assessment
Assessing a patient’s family and/or friends need for bereavement support after the patient’s death.
NAAPV Cardiac rehabilitation assessment
Assessing a patient’s ability to achieve and/or restore his or her maximum functional cardiac activity level
to plan his or her rehabilitation.
NAAPX Fracture management
Managing and/or caring for a patient with a broken bone(s).
NAAQA Immobilizer management
Managing and/or caring for a patient with a splint, cast and/or on prescribed bed rest.
NAAQD Mobility therapy assessment
Assessing a patient’s mobility deficit(s) to plan his or her therapy.
NAAQF Ambulation assessment
Assessing a patient’s ability to maintain or restore autonomic and voluntary body functioning during his
or her treatment and/or recovery from an illness and/or injury.
NAAQI Location transfer assessment
Assessing a patient’s need to be transferred from one location to another.
NAAQL Sleep pattern assessment
Assessing a patient’s sleep cycles.
NAAQM Sleep pattern assistance
Assisting a patient in regulating his or her sleep cycles.
NAAQN Rehabilitation assessment
Assessing a patient’s physical functioning to plan his or her rehabilitation.
NAAQO Rehabilitation assistance
Assisting a patient in restoring his or her physical functioning through rehabilitation.
NAAQT Exercise therapy assessment
Assessing a patient’s need for exercise therapy to plan his or her treatment.
NAARE Ostomy irrigation assessment
Assessing a patient’s need to flush and/or wash his or her ostomy.
NAARF Ostomy irrigation assistance
Assisting a patient in flushing or washing out his or her ostomy.
