CBEAM – CBEBI Somatic and/or Massage Practices – Massage<br />

CBEAM Myotherapy each 15 minutes<br />

Using myotherapy, which consists <strong>of</strong> applying pressure from origin to insertion <strong>of</strong> a client’s muscle(s), to<br />

release tension at the point(s) <strong>of</strong> attachment between his or her muscle(s) and bone(s). Any practitioner<br />

using this code must document appropriate training and/or certification. Service is billed in 15-minute<br />

increments.<br />

CBEAP Origin insertion technique each 15 minutes<br />

Applying deep tissue massage to a client, with a muscle injury and/or injuries and/or tear(s), to facilitate<br />

healing at the attachment site(s) <strong>of</strong> his or her muscle(s), by working from the origin to the insertion <strong>of</strong> the<br />

muscle(s). Service is billed in 15-minute increments.<br />

CBEAR Parasympathetic massage each 15 minutes<br />

Massaging specific areas <strong>of</strong> a client’s body part, region or full body to affect the parasympathetic division<br />

<strong>of</strong> his or her autonomic nervous system. Service is billed in 15-minute increments.<br />

CBEAS Postpartum massage each 15 minutes<br />

Applying postpartum massage to a client to induce relaxation and/or reduce her stress. Service is billed<br />

in 15-minute increments.<br />

CBEAT Prenatal massage each 15 minutes<br />

Applying prenatal massage to a client to reduce discomfort and/or stress and improve her muscle tone<br />

and/or flexibility. Service is billed in 15-minute increments.<br />

CBEAY Pre-event sports massage each 15 minutes<br />

Using energizing and/or elongating massage strokes to warm up and/or promote flexibility <strong>of</strong> a client’s<br />

muscle(s) before an athletic event. Any practitioner using this code must document appropriate training<br />

and/or certification. Service is billed in 15-minute increments.<br />

CBEAZ Lomi Lomi each 15 minutes<br />

Using Hawaiian massage techniques, including prayer, warm oil and long, pressured massage strokes<br />

applied with elbows and/or forearms, on a client to provide him or her with relaxation. Any practitioner<br />

using this code must document appropriate training and/or certification. Service is billed in 15-minute<br />

increments.<br />

CBEBA Post-event sports massage each 15 minutes<br />

Using relaxing and/or elongating massage strokes to facilitate recovery and/or prevent shortening <strong>of</strong> a<br />

client’s muscle(s) after an athletic event. Any practitioner using this code must document appropriate<br />

training and/or certification. Service is billed in 15-minute increments.<br />

CBEBB Sports massage each 15 minutes<br />

Using sports massage techniques on a client to facilitate maintenance and/or improvement <strong>of</strong> his or her<br />

physical condition. Any practitioner using this code must document appropriate training and/or<br />

certification. Service is billed in 15-minute increments.<br />

CBEBC Rehabilitation sports massage each 15 minutes<br />

Using sports massage techniques on a client to expedite his or her recovery from a sports-related injury<br />

or injuries. Any practitioner using this code must document appropriate training and/or certification.<br />

Service is billed in 15-minute increments.<br />

CBEBE Stress-strain-counterstrain massage each 15 minutes<br />

Using stress-strain-counterstrain massage on a client to treat his or her post-injury muscle(s) and/or joint<br />

dysfunction. Any practitioner using this code must document appropriate training and/or certification.<br />

Service is billed in 15-minute increments.<br />

CBEBG Temporomandibular muscle massage each 15 minutes<br />

Using pressure point and/or connective tissue massage on a client’s jaw to improve jaw tracking and/or<br />

relieve his or her pain. Service is billed in 15-minute increments.<br />

CBEBH Trigger-point therapy each 15 minutes<br />

Applying pressure to hypersensitive points on a client’s body part, which when compressed, cause pain<br />

and refer to other body parts or regions, to relieve his or her referred pain. Any practitioner using this code<br />

must document appropriate training and/or certification. Service is billed in 15-minute increments.<br />

CBEBI Visceral manipulation each 15 minutes<br />

Manipulating a client’s abdominal tissue to affect the organs and/or muscles <strong>of</strong> his or her abdomen.<br />
