LA RENDICIÓN DE MANCINO

El siguiente análisis trata sobre la rendición del cónsul romano Cayo
Hostilio Mancino, los diferentes criterios que recogen los historiadores clásicos
dependiendo de su adscripción a los distintos círculos de poder; los
incumplimientos de los tratados de paz que Roma hizo con sus enemigos
en la Península Ibérica; los generales romanos en las Guerras Celtíberas; el
protocolo y las fórmulas de las declaraciones de guerra y acuerdos de paz de
los feciales y la trascendencia que supuso en el Derecho Romano las consecuencias
del foedus de Mancino.

ABSTRACT
The following analysis is about the Roman Consul C. Hostilius Mancinus´
surrender; the different Classical historians´ criteria depending on their
adscription to the various political circles of power; the nonfulfilment of the
peace treaties that Rome made with its enemies in the Iberian Peninsula; the
Roman generals in the Celtiberic wars; the Fetialis´ protocol and formulae
of declaration of war and peace agreements and the significance that the
consequences of the Mancinus´Foedus meant for Roman Law.
