COMPLICATIONS AU FÉMININ
Pour célébrer le 25 e anniversaire de sa première création horlogère, Chanel dote
sa star d’un tourbillon volant. Élaborée en partenariat avec les horlogers suisses
Renaud & Papi (pôle de recherche d’Audemars Piguet), la compli cation s’orne
d’un délicat camélia, fleur fétiche de Mademoiselle Chanel. Il ne fait aucun doute
que les maisons ont enfin pris conscience d’une réelle demande : les femmes
sont de plus en plus amatrices de haute horlogerie. Après avoir lancé sa
première répétition minute pour femmes en 2011, Patek Philippe étoffe son
offre de complications. En 2012, c’est un modèle doté d’un calendrier perpétuel
qui leur est dédié. La Ladies First Perpetual Calendar garde toutefois les atours
d’une montre féminine avec sa couronne sertie de diamants, son cadran en
nacre blanche et ses index en or rose. Quand de Grisogono décide de créer
son premier tourbillon, c’est aux femmes que la maison genevoise s’adresse.
Drapée de diamants, la Tondo Tourbillon Gioiello abrite un mouvement
mécanique doté d’un tourbillon excentré à 8 heures. Cette collection est une
trilogie en diamants noirs, bruns ou blancs, teintée du style baroque et
contemporain de la marque. Corum a spécialement développé une compli ca -
tion pour sa clientèle féminine : l’Admiral’s Cup Legend 38 Mystery Moon, qui
met en scène, sur son cadran de nacre, la phase de lune sautante qui apparaît
dans un compteur métallisé satiné, constellé d’étoiles. Enfin, Franck Muller épate
les femmes en intégrant le plus petit tourbillon automatique pour dame dans
son célèbre boîtier Cintré Curvex. La Tourbillon Lady dévoile la petite cage à
6 heures pour le plus grand plaisir des amatrices !

the satin strap. More modern in its allure is the
Khesis Star Crystal cuff watch, daringly teaming
diamonds with steel. The bracelet in very small,
supple links hugs the wrist and encloses a dial
glowing with diamonds. Cartier's poetic flight of
fancy is the Promenade d'une Panthère watch
driven by the 9603MC calibre, a self-winding
mechanical movement. This offers a fascinating
spectacle as the oscillating weight has been
inverted so as to form the décor: a diamondpaved
panther that prowls around the dial. But
Boucheron's Hibiscus Tourbillon has no reason to
be envious. The lightness of its movement is
emphasised by branches in the shape of leaves
while on opposite sides of the bezel sit a
humming-bird in full flight and a flower, dazzlingly
executed in diamonds and sapphires. The blue
karung strap echoes the bird's plumage. This
watch may be a spectacular piece of jewellery but
it's also a display of technical expertise.
COMPLICATIONS IN THE FEMININE
To celebrate the 25th birthday of its first watch,
Chanel has given its star a flying tourbillon
developed in partnership with Swiss horologists
Renaud & Papi (Audemars Piguet's research
centre). The complication is ornamented with a
delicate camellia bloom, Coco Chanel's favourite
flower. It's very obvious that watch manufacturers
have finally realised there is a real demand from
women increasingly appreciative of advanced
watchmaking. After launching its first women's
minute-repeater watch in 2011, Patek Philippe is
now expanding its offering of complications for
the fair sex, starting with the Ladies First Perpetual
Calendar. Still an extremely feminine watch, this
has a diamond-set bezel, a white mother-of-pearl
dial and a pink-gold hour circle. When de
Grisogono decided to create a new tourbillon, the
Geneva firm chose to dedicate it to women.
Swathed in diamonds, the Tondo Tourbillon
Gioiello houses a mechanical movement with an
off-centre tourbillon at 8 o'clock. This collection
developed in-house will comprise a trilogy of
watches in white, black or brown diamonds,
expressing the brand's baroque contemporary
aesthetics. Corum has developed a complication
specifically for its female clientele. The Admiral’s
Cup Legend 38 Mystery Moon's mother-of-pearl
dial displays a jumping moon phase in a starspangled
brushed-metal décor. Last but not least,
Franck Muller spoils his ladies by putting the
smallest automatic tourbillon for women in the
famous Cintrée Curvex case. This Tourbillon Lady
flaunts its special charm at 6 o'clock to seduce
female connoisseurs of watch complications.
