genital sex than subjects with less schooling, 87.9% and 73.7%
respectively (X2 = 6.4, P < .01). The same was true for income: among
lower than average income subjects, 87% have performed oral-genital

sex, as compared to 73.9% among higher than average (X2 = 5.5, P =
.019). And more religious subjects were less prone to this behavior
th an less religious one s, 71.3% and 88.1% respectively (X2 = 8.8, P =
.003). On the other hand, church attendance did not seem to influence
the presence of active oral-genital sex in one's sexual scenario.
However, variables that we shall see later did correlate with the
frequency of oral-genital behaviors-that is, parenthood, number of
children, occupation, individual sexual satisfaction, and satisfaction
towards one's sexual partner-did not seem to bear influence on the
presence of this behavior in one's sexual script.
Frequency
Among the 168 active subjects, oral-genital sex had occurred on the
average 66.6 times during 1987-1.3 times a week-as often among
males as among females, M = 65.5 and 67.4 times, respectively.
ANOV A analysis has shown that the rate of oral-genital behaviors
varies significantly according to age (F = 7.1, P = .001), this behavior
being more frequent among 18-34 years old subjects, M = 85.5, than
among 35-54 years old, M = 43.2, and than among 55 and older ones,
M = 19.4. Within each age bracket, no differences were found between
males and females.
Cohabiting subjects engaged in active oral-genital sex significantly
more often, M = 93.1, than married subjects, M = 51.9, (t = 2.7, P < .01),
but this difference did not remain significant when age was controlled
for. As for the length of relationship, new dyad subjects had a higher
frequency of active oral-genital sex, M = 142.3, than yaunger dyad, M =
74.2, and alder dyad subjects, M = 41.5, (F = 10.6, P < .01). Furthermore,
childless subjects did perform active oral-genital sex more often
during 1987, M = 98.3, than subjects who were parents, M = 49.8,
(t = 3.1, P < .01). And in this later group, the rate of active oral-genital
sex was higher for parent of a single child, M = 70.4, than of two or
more children, M = 36.9, (t = 2.9, P < .001). As for occupations, non­
manual workers had performed less frequent active oral-genital sex,
M = 52.8, than manual workers, M = 97.2, (t = 3.0, P = .004). These
differences on parenthood, on parity, and on occupation remained
significant wh en age, length of relationship or both were controlled
for.
