EUGENIC SEOLOGY IN FRNCE DURING THE 19305
During the 19305, the fear of depopulation and degeneracy, associated with a
social hygienic doctrine, has contributed to the development of eugenics
and of hygienic programs. The Association d'études sexologiques created in
1931 by Dr. Toulouse was promoting an eugenic and hygienic sexology
during the 1930s. An analysis of Toulouse's sexological project shows that
the beginning of the French medical sexology was influenced by the
awareness of its "founder" towards the preoccupations of its time
concerning the quantity and the quality of the population.
