plenty to do and see in both summer and winter. With the<br />
4 Valleys ski area offering 410 km of legendary pistes<br />

From Savoleyres you can career down a sledging run that<br />

Alpine skiing and snowboarding are the flagship activities<br />
in Verbier St Bernard, with skiing that’s perfect for<br />
everyone.<br />
COuRMAyeuR/VAL FeRReT<br />
Les amateurs de sports d‘hiver trouvent à Courmayeur une<br />
offre variée et de bon niveau qui en font l‘une des stations<br />
alpines les plus appréciées au monde : les domaines de<br />
Chécrouit et de Val Ven, reliés, proposent plus de 100 km<br />
de pistes aux inconditionnels du ski alpin.<br />
Le Val Ferret possède 35 kilomètres de pistes de ski<br />
nordique.<br />
• Les funivies Monte Bianco situés en face du Mont-Blanc,<br />
vous permettent de traverser un décor qui a été rebaptisé<br />
“la huitième merveille du monde“.<br />
• Courmayeur, ville alpine moderne au pied du massif du<br />
Mont Blanc est l’une des stations de <strong>mont</strong>agne les plus<br />
fréquentées d’Italie. Organisée autour de l‘ancienne église<br />
Santi Pantaleone e Valentino, la ville est, depuis la fin du XIX e<br />
siècle, la capitale italienne de l‘alpinisme et des randonnées<br />
en <strong>mont</strong>agne. Vous apprécierez également la Maison des<br />
Guides qui abrite le Musée Ducal des Abruzzes. Profitez aussi<br />
de la via Roma, rue la plus animée au centre de la ville.<br />
A proximité de Courmayeur, découvrez les thermes de Pré-<br />
Saint Didier, déjà connues au temps des Romains. Elles sont<br />
synonymes de détente et de bien-être au pied du<br />
Mont-Blanc.<br />
AOSTe<br />
La foire de Saint-Ours, 30 et 31 janvier 2012 :<br />
Cette foire est avant tout une grande manifestation<br />
populaire, un hymne à la créativité et à l’esprit<br />
industrieux des gens de la <strong>mont</strong>agne. Chaque<br />
hiver, un millier d’exposants, artistes et artisans<br />
valdôtains, y présentent les fruits de leur travail,<br />
qu’il s’agisse d’un passe-temps ou véritablement de<br />
leur métier. Qui dit foire dit aussi musique, folklore<br />
et dégustation de vins et d’autres produits typiques<br />
de la gastronomie locale.<br />

In Courmayeur, winter sports enthusiasts will find varied<br />
skiing with some challenging options, making it one of the<br />
world’s favourite alpine ski resorts. The linked ski areas of<br />
Chécrouit and Val Ven offer alpine ski fanatics more than<br />
100 km of pistes.<br />
Val Ferret has 35 kilometres of nordic skiing trails.<br />
• The Monte Bianco cable car next to Mont Blanc takes<br />
you through scenery that has been described as ‘the eighth<br />
wonder of the world’.<br />
• Courmayeur, a modern alpine town at the foot of the<br />
Mont Blanc massif, is one of Italy’s most popular mountain<br />
resorts. Laid out around the old Church of Santi Pantaleone<br />
e Valentino, since the late 19th century the town has been<br />
Italy’s mountaineering and mountain hiking capital. The<br />
Mountain Guides Organisation headquarters, which is home<br />
to the Museum of the Dukes of Abruzzo, is worth a visit. You’ll<br />
also enjoy Via Roma, the liveliest street in the town centre.<br />
Not far from Courmayeur, visit the thermal baths at Pré-Saint<br />
Didier, known even in Roman times. This is the place to enjoy<br />
relaxation and wellbeing at the foot of Mont Blanc.<br />
AOSTA<br />
The Fiera di Sant’Orso, 30 and 31 January 2012:<br />
This fair is above all a huge popular celebration, a<br />
tribute to the creativity and hard-working mentality<br />
of mountain people. Every winter around a thousand<br />
exhibitors, artists and artisans from the Aosta Valley,<br />
both hobbyists and professionals, show off the<br />
fruits of their labour. The fair also features music,<br />
folklore and tastings of wines and other local typical<br />
gastronomic produce.<br />
