Un viaggio affascinante in un quartiere che sin dai tempi dei romani venne scelto come cuore energetico di Roma e che adesso, con la riconversione, continuerà la sua missione istituzionale come motore culturale dell’intera città (con la realizzazione del Macro, della città dei giovani negli ex Mercati generali, ecc.). Il film vuole essere allora anche un contributo alla memoria. Quello che è stato e che ha vissuto questo quartiere. MUZIKA ROM The goal of the documentary is to provide a wide-ranging description (both video and sound) of the musical wealth of the gypsy peoples (Roms, Synths, Manouches, Kales and Romanichals): a music that has taken on special forms, including the folk tradition of the Balkans, the I b e r i a n - F rench flamenco, Synth-German swing and F rench Manouche jazz. The film explores and “discovers” a number of the most important musicians in the Balkans a rea, together with the festivals of a musical universe known in the west only on account of the fame won by Goran Bregovic.
