Fino al giorno in cui il gioco diviene l’espediente per raggiungere uno scopo, quello di racimolare soldi nell’ingenua illusione di poter aiutare economicamente la famiglia…. A GAME OF MARBLES Nino and his family live in the hinterland of Naples. Their poor condition, the lack of communication between Nino’s depressed mother and his good for nothing and gambling father lead Nino to escape from reality and play marbles with his friends who are always trying to enliven their boring afternoons. They also start trasgressing and commit minor crimes. By selling the marbles to his friends Nino gains some money to help his family…. Una carrellata di paesaggi, architetture, volti, dialetti e voci, vite che si mescolano in un corpo unico a bordo dei treni. CROSSING THE LINE Crossing the Line is a ‘journey’ through Italy to the rhythm of the long-range express trains that travel the peninsula from north to south and back again, from night to morning, though, for some time now, they have been abandoned to a slow but inexorable decline. THE LOSS Emiliano will have the chance to think about his feelings after his lover has left and weird events have happened. Story and main character’s behaviour are just a way to tell, through symbolism, what is going on in the mind and the heart of one who suffers a loss: anger and absence, neglecting the reality in front of one’s eyes.
