formación que se debe dar desde el comienzo
de los cursos y de la acogida, además de
la constante atención a la internacionalidad.
Estos cursos son lugares importantes para la
formación y el conocimiento entre los formadores
de las diferentes partes del mundo.
En la evaluación del curso de octubre pareció
oportuno continuar en proponer el tópico
del acompañamiento personalizado
para el futuro, acentuando la dimensión
franciscana y el acompañamiento de grupo
en fraternidad.
Conclusión
Entrego el informe al Consejo Internacional
para que sea discutido, pido clarificaciones
y explicaciones si pensáis que es
necesario. También nosotros deseamos recibir
sugerencias y propuestas que parezcan
oportunas para que nuestro servicio a la Orden
pueda crecer en sentido de participación.
Un agradecimiento conclusivo a cada
uno de vosotros y, a través de vosotros, a los
formadores de todas las Entidades y Conferencias.
A través de vuestra presencia y de
vuestro trabajo diario el servicio a la formación
y los estudios anima y mueve la vida y
la misión de los Hermanos de la Orden.
Nuestro servicio, con frecuencia un poco
“virtual”, tiene sentido si se mantiene en
relación y abocado a la ayuda en lo que cada
uno de vosotros y de todos los formadores
de la Orden realiza, para que crezcamos
en la esperanza que nuestra vocación continúe
siendo una palabra actual y fecunda para
el hombre de nuestro tiempo.

3. Letter to the Brother Ministers, Custodes
and Formators OFM
Sharing our experience with the brothers
In these days of 14th – 26th February, we
the members of the International Council for
Formation and Studies met in Korea under
the historical inspiration of the encounter between
Francis and the Sultan of Egypt.
In continuity with the General Chapter
of Assisi 2003, we adopted the theme for
this meeting: «Dialogue for peace. What
kind of formation in a multicultural and
multi-religious context?»,.
Many of us, like St. Francis, crossed frontiers
to be in Korea for this graced moment of
encounters. Our encounters and dialogue
with the cultural and religious diversity of
Asia challenged us to cross our own mental,
psychological and spiritual frontiers.
While we were able to recognize the
common search for deep spirituality and
sincerity, we were also able to discover other
elements which are present in today’s society.
We recognize the phenomenon of
globalization, which presents both opportunities
and challenges.
In the encounter with Buddhism, Confucianism,
Islam and Hinduism, we also recognize
the common search for a deep spirituality
and the answers for a more humane world.
Dialogue with other religions, cultures and
indigenous peoples is an opportunity to discover
the other face of God who, not only accepts
the differences between Him and creation,
but also rejoices in diversity.
As we perceive the challenges of globalization,
we see the movement towards a
world-wide culture that can, at times, be
primarily driven by economy, communications
and technology, thus emptying it of a
soul and perhaps without a heart.
These realities which we have encountered
draw us to new horizons which we
must address as a global fraternity.
New horizons for formation and studies
Our dialogue in these few days has inspired
us to look to the future with new sets
of eyes. This is a future that sees the Friars
Minor as persons who are passionate for
God and the human person.
