NOTES ON EDITORS<br />

Marluci MENEZES is a geographer with a master’s<br />

degree and a PhD in Anthropology from New Lisbon<br />

University/Portugal, researcher at the National<br />

Laboratory of Civil Engineering (LNEC), Lisbon<br />

(Portugal). She has been working on a number<br />

of national and international research projects<br />

covering different issues centred on the relationship<br />

between space, society and culture, with several<br />

publications related to the studies carried out. She<br />

is currently studying socio-cultural issues associated<br />

with the dynamics of adaptation to urban transformation<br />

processes, the relationship between tangible,<br />

intangible and digital heritage in conservation and<br />

transmission of cultural heritage. She is member of<br />

COST ACTION TU 1306 CyberParks, C3PLACES (H2020<br />

- n. 693443), E-RIHS.pt, IPERION CH - Integrated<br />

Platform for the European Research Infrastructure<br />

on Cultural Heritage, and DB-Heritage (DataBase<br />

of building materials with historical and heritage<br />

interest - PTDC/EPH-PAT/4684/2014).<br />

Carlos SMANIOTTO COSTA (PhD) holds a diploma<br />

degree in Landscape Architecture and Environmental<br />

Planning and a PhD degree in Urban and Landscape<br />

Planning from the Leibniz University Hannover/Germany.<br />

He lectures Landscape Design and Urban<br />

Ecology in master’s and PhD programmes at the<br />

Lusófona University and is a member of its Interdisciplinary<br />

Research Centre for Education and Development,<br />

where he leads the Experimental Lab on<br />

Education, Space and Memories. Smaniotto Costa has<br />

been working on a number of national and international<br />

research projects covering different issues but<br />

all centred on sustainable urban development and<br />

transforming cities into more liveable spaces. He has<br />

published widely on environmental, social, urban<br />

geography as well as urban planning and design<br />

issues in professional journals in Portuguese, German,<br />

English and Italian. He is one of the initiators and<br />

the chair of the COST Action TU1306 CyberParks.
