11 SUMMARY<br />

The master's thesis, in compliance with the aims, discusses a syste<strong>mat</strong>ic and comprehensive<br />

way in the field of feature catalogues for the needs to create a digital navigation basis for an<br />

effective navigation of emergency vehicles. It further describes and evaluates the condition<br />

and options in the field of an effective navigation for emergency vehicles. With the created<br />

feature catalogue in the field of consideration, there was also created a starting point for a<br />

comprehensive consideration of feature types, their attributes and their relation. The thesis<br />

also considerate precisely the whole response process of emergency units in case of<br />

accidents, focusing the navigation of emergency vehicles. There are presented methods how<br />

to determinate optimal ways where there is also presented the method of how to determine<br />

more optimal ways.<br />

I found out that there is an increasing need of access and use of spatial data in the case of<br />

intervening at accidents and other incidents. The use of GIS-technology and satellite<br />

navigation systems can really contribute to a more effective preparing and intervention at<br />

accidents and to analyse the condition after the accident. It has been stated that an<br />

intervention in due time is one of the key factors of the whole procedure of protection,<br />

rescuing and help in case of an accident. The due arrival of rescue services reduces the<br />

widening of consequences or so to say other risks, damage limitation, but most of all it<br />

protects the people and their belongings. The appropriate support of navigation in emergency<br />

vehicles in case of accident intervention lowers the risk for the vehicle when driving to the<br />

scene of the accident. Here a faster and safer arrival of the rescue service to the scene of the<br />

accident is guaranteed and also the most appropriate position to park is shown (according to<br />

obstacles, supporting systems, evacuation routes etc.). I further found out that it is necessary<br />

to consider many time changing factors (most of all in road system) that have an effect on<br />

the time of driving. First Aid units should arrive as fast as possible to the scene of the<br />

accident and should also return as fast as possible to the starting point (hospital, medical<br />

centre).
