Women’s Workforce Participation and Women Poverty from the Point of Gender
Discrimination Perspective
Abstract
Radical changes have occurred in women's lives since 1950s. Women struggles to make their
presence felt in every area of life. However the income that women obtain in developed and
developing countries depending on social gender inequality couldn’t reach the point they
wanted in terms of productivity and make their voices heard in society. Because from past to
present “gender inequality” has maintained its importance as the most obvious factor
influencing women’s life! In other words, inequalities faced by women both in social life and
work life just because they are women, force them more than men and increases their lack in
working life and society.
It is aimed to put forth the effects of the types of discrimination faced by women in working
life on the poverty of women with this article. In accordance with this purpose, the difficulties
and inequalities that women face at work at international and national levels will be determined.
At the same time, the politics, strategies and practices developed about strengthening and
improving the effectiveness of women in society and working life in order to ensure gender
equality will be evaluating and will presenting solutions.
