Technology Transfer and its influence on Unemployment in Turkey
Abstract
Businesses carry their activities fierce competition environment gradually globalizing
markets in the contemporary world. Aiming at improving competitive advantage leads
businesses to high technology. Producing high quality product with low cost is dependent
modernizing and improvement of production technologies. It is widely known that technologic
improvement has various effects on the countries’ economies. As developing countries cannot
leave ample finance aside for research and development, they have to transfer labour saving
technologies of the developed countries. This causes unemployment in labour abundant
countries. Present work endeavours to analyze the relationship between unemployment and
technology entrance on sectoral basis after 1990 in Turkey
