Phase-Locked
Oscillators
Deliver Accurate
and Stable
Performance
Now available from RF and
microwave component specialist
Link Microtek is a line
of high-performance phaselocked
coaxial resonator
oscillators that are particularly
suitable for use in highreliability
applications such
as military satellite-communications
systems, where
stability and accuracy are of
paramount importance.
Manufactured by L3 Narda-
M I TEQ, t h e r u g g e d l y
constructed BCO series oscillators
feature high-Q ceramic
resonators and can be specified
with output frequencies
ranging from 100 MHz to
4 GHz for fundamental configurations
and 4 to 16 GHz
for multiplied configurations.
The devices can be phase
locked to either an external 1
to 200 MHz reference source
or to the internal TCXO crystal
reference. Phase noise typically
ranges from -70 dBc/Hz
at 10 Hz offset from carrier to
-150 dBc/Hz for a 10 MHz
offset. Available with operating
voltages from 5.2 to 15 V,
the BCO series oscillators
have an input impedance of
50 ohms and a nominal load
VSWR of 1.5:1.
These compact devices weigh
less than 100 g and have
maximum dimensions of
only 57,2 x 57,2 x 15,3 mm,
excluding the female SMA
connectors used for the RF
inputs and outputs. All units
are supplied fully burnt in and
temperature tested.
1 W Power Amplifier
supports Ka-Band
RFMW Ltd. announced design
and sales support for a Ka-band
amplifier with 1 W output power.
Qorvo’s TGA4544-SM supports
28 GHz, point-to-point radio and
Ka-band linear satellite communication
systems in the 26 to 31
GHz frequency range. Available
in a 5 x 5 mm QFN package,
the TGA4544-SM has 23 dB
of gain, a P1dB of 31 dBm and
Psat of 32 dBm. OIP3 is rated
at 41 dBm. Qorvo has designed
this PA for ease-of-use so no matching
components are required.
The TGA4544-SM operates from
a 6 V supply and draws 1,1 A.
Low-Noise Amplifier
Frontend Modules
Skyworks introduced two new
global navigation low-noise
amplifier frontend modules with
integrated filters: the SKY65713-
11 and SKY65715-81. Both
solutions support products integrating
GNSS functionality such
as smartphones, personal navigation
devices, wearables, machine
to machine (M2M) systems, base
stations, asset tracking instruments,
professional radios and
Internet of Things applications.
The devices also provide high
linearity, excellent gain, a high
1 dB input compression point
(IP1 dB), and a superior noise
figure. The prefilters provide
the low inband insertion loss
and integrated notch filtering for
excellent rejection of desired frequency
bands. Each is supplied
in small footprint, surface mount
technology multichip module
packaging: SKY65713-11 (1.1
x 1.5 x 0.7 mm), SKY65715-81
(1.7 x 2.3 x 0.7 mm).
VCO Features
Ultra-Miniature Size
Package
Z - C o m m u n i c a t i o n s I n c .
announced a new RoHS compliant
VCO (Voltage Controlled
Oscillator) model USSP1730-LF
in the L-band. The USSP1730-
LF operates from 1715 to
1745 MHz within a tuning voltage
range of 1 to 4 V DC . This
remarkable VCO features phase
noise of -94 dBc/Hz @ 10 kHz
offset while operating off a 5 V
supply and typically drawing
only 19 mA of current.
The low-cost USSP1730-LF
provides the end user a nominal
output power of 3.5 dBm into
a 50 ohm load while operating
over the industrial temperature
range of -40 to 85 ºC. This high
performing VCO suppresses the
second harmonic to better than
-25 dBc and delivers a linearity
of 1.1:1 across the band. Making
the USSP1730-LF even more
attractive is its mere size. It
comes in Z-COMM‘s standard
USSP package measuring only
0.2 x 0.2 x 0.06 in. It is available
in tape and reel packaging for
production requirements making
it ideal for automated surface
mount assembly and reflow.
The USSP1730-LF is well suited
for satellite communication
applications that require low
power consumption as well as
low phase noise and extremely
small size.
RFMW Ltd. announced design
and sales support for Qorvo’s
TGA2595-CP, a 27.5 to 31 GHz
Gallium Nitride (GaN) power
amplifier serving VSAT and
SatCom applications. The
TGA2595-CP offers 8 W of
Psat power with a PAE of 22%.
Small signal gain is >25 dB.
A balanced configuration
supports low return loss and
improves robustness into nonideal
loads. Drawing 560 mA
from a 20 V supply, the Qorvo
TGA2595-CP comes in a copper
based, flange package.
