EDUCATION<br />
Important aspect of NMR centre’s activity is its<br />
role in educational role. NMR centre offers help<br />
at collection, and interpretation of NMR spectra<br />
on specific structural problems that are part<br />
of bachelor, masters and doctoral thesis.<br />
The following young researchers have successfully<br />
completed their education in <strong>2005</strong> by thesis<br />
work performed under the supervision of J.<br />
Plavec:<br />
- M. Plevnik with Ph.D. thesis entitled “Structural<br />
Studies of Preorganization of 3D Structures<br />
of Oligomeric Nucleic Acids”<br />
- P. [ket with Ph.D. thesis entitled ”NMR Studies<br />
of cation binding within G-quadruplex<br />
DNA structures”<br />
- P. Podbev{ek with B.Sc. thesis entitled “Studies<br />
on Ammonium Ion Binding within the<br />
d(G 4 (T 4 G 4 ) 3 ) G-quadruplex”<br />
M. Plevnik has applied to the 35 th Krka Awards<br />
and was amongst 47 prize winners chosen to<br />
be among five awards for extraordinary achievements.<br />
