About the Authors Dr. Kourosh Kalantar-zadeh Dr. Kalantar-zedeh received his PhD at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia in 2002 in the field of bioMEMS. He also holds a master of science from Tehran University, Tehran, Iran majoring telecommunications. His fields of intetrst include sensors, nanotechnology, materials sciences, MRI signal processing, ionospheric surveillance systems, electronics, SONAR systems and MEMS. He has published more than 120 scientific papers in refereed journals and in the proceedings of international conferences and holds 4 patents. He is currently a senior lecturer at RMIT University. Dr. Benjamin Nicholas Fry Dr. Fry completed his PhD at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands in the field of Medical Microbiology. He then pursued his research career in the Netherlands and later moved to Australia. Dr. Fry fields of interest include bacterial detection, typing, pathogenesis and vaccine development. He has many publications in the international scientific journals and holds several international patents. Dr. Fry is currently a senior lecturer in the Department of Biotechnology and Environmental Biology at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia.
