About the Authors<br />

Dr. Kourosh Kalantar-zadeh<br />

Dr. Kalantar-zedeh received his PhD at RMIT University, Melbourne,<br />

Australia in 2002 in the field of bioMEMS. He also holds a master of science<br />

from Tehran University, Tehran, Iran majoring telecommunications.<br />

His fields of intetrst include sensors, nanotechnology, materials sciences,<br />

MRI signal processing, ionospheric surveillance systems, electronics,<br />

SONAR systems and MEMS. He has published more than 120 scientific<br />

papers in refereed journals and in the proceedings of international conferences<br />

and holds 4 patents. He is currently a senior lecturer at RMIT University.<br />

Dr. Benjamin Nicholas Fry<br />

Dr. Fry completed his PhD at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands<br />

in the field of Medical Microbiology. He then pursued his research<br />

career in the Netherlands and later moved to Australia. Dr. Fry fields of interest<br />

include bacterial detection, typing, pathogenesis and vaccine development.<br />

He has many publications in the international scientific journals<br />

and holds several international patents. Dr. Fry is currently a senior lecturer<br />

in the Department of Biotechnology and Environmental Biology at<br />

RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia.
