durability tests are all opportunities that the digital media <strong>of</strong>fers for the <strong>design</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />
consumer products. This implies that, once you have a virtual model (prototype),<br />
you may detect all the steps towards the actual <strong>production</strong> by eliminating most <strong>of</strong><br />
the potential problems through the use <strong>of</strong> singular or integrated usage <strong>of</strong><br />
computer s<strong>of</strong>tware.<br />

3.2.1. Conventional Modeling versus Computer Modeling<br />
The significance <strong>of</strong> models is unavoidable in arts, architecture <strong>and</strong> product<br />
<strong>design</strong>. Just after the step <strong>of</strong> generating a product idea through rough sketching<br />
<strong>and</strong> technical settings, the <strong>design</strong>er is to make a form out <strong>of</strong> his ideas. The<br />
construction <strong>of</strong> these surfaces would be more efficient only if the <strong>design</strong>er has<br />
the chance to observe it in 3 dimensional forms rather than 2 dimensional<br />
drawings. Keeping this effective <strong>design</strong> method in mind, most <strong>of</strong> the <strong>design</strong>ers<br />
use this modeling tool either in scale <strong>of</strong> in full scale models for an actual<br />
