3.3 Location
The research was conducted at Pusat Tuisyen Jaguh Gemilang that is located in
Bandar Country Homes Rawang in the district of Selangor. Bandar Country Homes is
situated at the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur city and at the interchange of the North
South Highway just, thirty-three kilometres from Kuala Lumpur city. It takes an
additional three kilometres to go to Bandar Country Homes from Rawang town.
Bandar Country Homes has 730 acres of land and is an established township. There
are many new housing developments in Bandar Country Homes. The over population
and traffic congestation in Rawang town had forced the people to migrate to Bandar
Country Homes. Over the years, the population in Bandar Country Homes increased
due to new housing projects, factories and job opportunities. The cost of living in
Bandar Country Homes is much lower compared to Rawang town. Students who
study in Pusat Tuisyen Jaguh Gemilang come from schools around the Kuala
Selangor area.
In Pusat Tuisyen Jaguh Gemilang there are 14 teachers teaching primary and
secondary school subjects. Pusat Tuition Jaguh Gemilang was chosen for the study as
the tuition centre is located at the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur. The researcher chose a
tution centre because he could not get permission from any Goverment school to
record the teaching. So, the researcher opted to have the recordings in a tuition centre.
The students who study in this tution centre come from various social backgrounds.
Some students come from lower income group hence many parents have poor
educational background.
