The Karasu Valley in Hatay, sou<strong>the</strong>astern Turkey, was <strong>the</strong> area <strong>of</strong> investigation<br />

for Alici et al. (2001). The area is bounded by two major fault lines, namely <strong>the</strong> Dead<br />

Sea transform fault and <strong>the</strong> East Anatolian fault (see Figure 46 for location <strong>of</strong> study area<br />

and faults). Karasu Valley is considered <strong>the</strong> nor<strong>the</strong>rn segment <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Dead Sea transform<br />
