Other Publications<br />
• The unit issued a brief report on the impact of the closure imposed on the OPT,<br />
especially the Gaza Strip, on the economic and social conditions of <strong>Palestinian</strong><br />
civilians. It was used in PCHR's 2005 <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Report</strong>.<br />
• The units issued a training booklet on the right to adequate housing in<br />
international human rights instruments. The booklet defines the concept of the<br />
right to adequate housing in international human rights instruments and details<br />
obligations of states in this regard. It was published in June 2005.<br />
• The unit wrote a report on Jewish synagogues in the Gaza Strip in light of the<br />
debate that emerged regarding these synagogues following the implementation of<br />
the Israeli "Disengagement Plan".<br />
• The unit wrote a working paper on the right to receive basic services, which was<br />
presented at a workshop organized by the unit on 22 June 2005 on the role of<br />
municipalities in providing basic services to citizens.<br />
• The unit prepared a study of the <strong>Palestinian</strong> higher education under the <strong>Palestinian</strong><br />
National Authority. This study was completed at the end of 2004. It was<br />
submitted to PCHR's Program Committee <strong>for</strong> comments at the beginning of 2005.<br />
It was published in March 2005.<br />
• The unit wrote a report on the Israeli decision to prevent <strong>Palestinian</strong>s aged<br />
between 16 and 35 from traveling through Rafah International Crossing Point.<br />
The report was published on 16 September 2004.<br />
• The unit has written a booklet on the right to adequate housing under international<br />
human rights standards, in a series of booklets aimed at raising awareness on<br />
economic, social and cultural rights. The booklet will be submitted to PCHR's<br />
Program Committee <strong>for</strong> comments.<br />
