3.1) Weekly <strong>Report</strong> on Israeli Violations of <strong>Human</strong> <strong>Rights</strong> in the OPT<br />
The unit head prepares weekly reports on Israeli violations of human rights in the<br />
OPT. The weekly reports are based on in<strong>for</strong>mation collated each week by the field<br />
workers and aims to provide a comprehensive account of Israeli violations of human<br />
rights of <strong>Palestinian</strong>s throughout the OPT each week. They are published each<br />
Thursday.<br />
Means of Verification<br />
o The unit prepared 51 weekly reports in 2004.<br />
o These reports are published on PCHR’s web page and are distributed by email.<br />
o They are often covered by the local media.<br />
o Increasing demands to obtain copies of these reports.<br />
o Follow-up inquiries <strong>for</strong> further in<strong>for</strong>mation on incidents described in the reports.<br />
The unit head received dozens of inquiries from a number of organizations<br />
working in the Gaza Strip.<br />
3.2) Press Releases on Israeli Violations of <strong>Human</strong> <strong>Rights</strong> in the OPT<br />
The unit staff members prepare press releases on specific incidents as they occur.<br />
Press releases are issued on events that are of particular significance.<br />
Means of Verification<br />
o The unit prepared at least 25 press releases in 2005, including 22 on Israeli<br />
violations of human rights in the OPT.<br />
o Press releases are published on PCHR’s web page and distributed by email.<br />
o Press releases are often covered by local and international media.<br />
4) Escorting International Delegations on Field Visits<br />
In 2005, the unit staff members escorted visiting international delegations and<br />
individuals on visits to locations throughout the Gaza Strip and provide on the spot<br />
briefings on recent incidents.<br />
Means of Verification<br />
o In 2005, the unit staff members escorted at least 20 visiting international<br />
delegations on field visits throughout the Gaza Strip.<br />
