• Staff cooperated closely with the UN agencies, the EU and the ICRC<br />

regarding safety and security of internationals inside the Gaza Strip.<br />

Outcome:<br />

• PCHR, al Haq and FIDH produced written interventions to the UNHRC in<br />

2005.<br />

• FIDH will send a mission of enquiry to Gaza <strong>for</strong> disengagement.<br />

• FIDH wrote a private letter to Israeli PM Sharon about passage of HRDs<br />

through Rafah crossing, based on in<strong>for</strong>mation jointly supplied by PCHR<br />

and Al Dameer.<br />

• FIDH/AI/HRW all released numerous statements regarding civil<br />

compensation law.<br />

• CA published a piece by staff in the International Unit during the unilateral<br />

Israeli redeployment.<br />

• Thanks to cooperation with NOVIB Oxfam, a piece about Raji Sourani<br />

written by staff in the International Unit and Novib was published in their<br />

magazine People Making Change.<br />

• Front Line wrote urgent actions and published one newspaper<br />

advertisement in the Irish Times about HRDs in the OPT.<br />

• Front Line Palestine: Threats, Killings and Other <strong>for</strong>ms of Intimidation of<br />

<strong>Human</strong> <strong>Rights</strong> Defenders – a joint report with PCHR - at printers at time of<br />

writing this report.<br />

• Dutch government given in<strong>for</strong>mation by NOVIB which came from PCHR.<br />

Activity: Development of Emergency Response <strong>for</strong> large-scale HR violations<br />

• International Unit developed PCHR’s disengagement strategy and<br />

circulated to key advocacy partners to assist with their work.<br />

Outcome:<br />

• PCHR is well prepared <strong>for</strong> long and short-term possibilities of<br />

disengagement plan in respect of advocacy and in<strong>for</strong>mation sharing.<br />

• Position Paper: <strong>Human</strong> <strong>Rights</strong> and the Lessons of Peace Plans from<br />

Geneva Accords to Sharon’s ‘Disengagement’ Plan – presented at Vienna<br />

Conference and published by PCHR<br />

• Position Paper: Securing the Wall from International Law: An Initial<br />

Response to the Israeli State Attorney.<br />

• Children’s <strong>Rights</strong> in Intifada: Series Study drawn up and presented to UN<br />

Expert on Violence Against Children, during his visit to Gaza Strip.<br />

Entitled Confirm the Kill: IOF Killings of Children in the al Aqsa Intifada.<br />

• Produced 3 Fact Sheets on the Gaza ‘Disengagement’ Plan.<br />

• Implementation not Impunity: International Law Still not Being<br />

Implemented in the OPT – Memorandum to the HCPs One Year After the<br />
