Building Better Presentations
How to Take Your Audience from A to B – cont’d
A “solid” hour
A thoughtfully constructed hour is, in reality, anything but solid. Rather, it is a
sequence of carefully planned elements that capture the attention of the audience,
present key points in a clear and organized fashion, provide opportunities to engage
and learn, summarize, cement, and send audience members off – to the next hour, the
next session, or back to the real world.
As mentioned earlier, this is by no means the only way to organize a presentation. But
this schematic can serve as a handy reminder of all the pieces you must consider as you
assemble your next presentation and plan your audience’s journey from A to B.
