Indicator B3: Life expectancy at birth (Average, in years).<br />
Rationale: Life expectancy rates are considered by BC Stats and many<br />
international development organizations to be an indicator for physical health of a<br />
population.<br />
Data source: BC Stats, measured at Local Health Area level.<br />
Desired direction: Increase in number of years of life expectancy.<br />
Indicator B4: Infant Mortality Rate (per 1,000 live births).<br />
Rationale: Infant mortality rates are considered by BC Stats and many<br />
international development organizations to be an indicator for physical health of a<br />
population.<br />

Desired direction: Decrease infant mortality rates.<br />
